Ice cold steel and dark corridors - that's how our leadmapper Elusive's side project of the same name presents itself: "Cold Steel". You may look forward to solid brushwork, well placed weapons, as well as a whole army of nasty Strogg, who arm themselves in neat cutscenes to show you what they've got. Finally our members Mantikor, Dreyseth and Waran helped completing the singleplayer map with custom-textures, -models and -sounds. You can grab Cold Steel here and start in your digital crusade against the Strogg right away.

I give it an 8/10, I felt kind of underpowered in some situations, really wish headshots counted for more in the original game frown

headshotting with the fully charged pistol isn't easy!

I wonder has anyone else experienced freezing when it's loading the level AFTER the intro?

Hey it now is making my game all messed up so now everytime it tries to load any map it just quits back to the main menu and I have no sound any help please! confused

I got the same problem after finishing this mod. I eventually had to reinstall the game, that helped.

I placed the mod on the correct folder, run it from the batch file, all fine, but I can't find it! I started the main missions again and all is the same... Can someone gimme some help here plase? THX

worked fine for me..no problems at all

freezes on the intro on my Mac. Need to force-quit the q4 application. But a re-load and entering this into the q4 console seems to work:

map sp_1.map

So shame about the work around with the intro not working frown

But still, this is a great sp-map. Why isn't there more sp-maps for q4 of this quality???? In fact, why isn't there more sp-maps for q4 anyhow!!???

How do I install the mod and into which folder? I'm a newbie sorry...help please

I can't use the first elevator, the game doesn't let me to push the button, my weapon is still up when I get close. I think the way you made the elevators is incompatible with the 1.3 patch.

Im happy to find one damn SP Mod for Quake 4!
*downloading*

- it's very easy to miss the shotgun, because it's placed in a dark spot, and it's often not possible to revisit areas

- ammo and health are very scarce, given the challenge. It's one of those maps where you imagine the mapper having sadistic issues embarrasment

- the end fight seems very difficult, but it's possible to hide behind the crates and just snipe them, actually I finished off the big guy with my blaster that way

It's one of the better SP maps though 8/10
