Description:
Dafama2k7 has updated the mod that was originally made for Doom 3 by Saducimus to work with Quake 4.
Quote: This mod increases the size of all model textures by 200%.
The skins have only been increased in size, not modified in any other
way. I encourage you to use this as a base for your own skins. You
will LOVE the amount of higher detail possible.

v1.0 - First public release.
- 200% Increased size for model textures.
Description...:
Originally built by Saducimus, now, fully fixed and updated for all
D3 & ROE models by Dafama2k7.
Attention...:
This mod increases the size of all model textures by 200%.
The skins have only been increased in size, not modified in any other
way. I encourage you to use this as a base for your own skins. You
will LOVE the amount of higher detail possible.
INSTALLATION...:
The best is to drop this mod folder to the Q4 root directory and select the mod
from the mods list, but also can be used by dropping the .pk4 files into the q4base, or
to any mod folder for Q4.
You will notice a big detail difference when in-game,
and really seeing the advantage of having larger skin sizes.
NOTE...:
- This is absolutely needed to be in the Autoexec.cfg to see the difference in size.

Although one other question is, do you have to use the custom config.cfg when using your shader packs because every time I have to go into the cfg and make a load of changes. It's kind of annoying, but they're good mods none the less. |

dafama2k7 From: (Salt (Girona)) Joined: September 28th, 2006 Posts: 3070 | @Q4FREAK - This artifacts on the random letters in the menus are because the game does not found the language used by me in the mod, that in my case is Spanish, to fix this is VERY EASY, you just need to change the game language settings to English or whatever language you may use, it depends only on a command like this...:
set sys_lang english
Make sure to remove remove any command like this 'sys_lang' that sets the language to anything other that you don't want or better include this command set to the language you want in the Autoexec.cfg text file that is executed when you run Q4, note that this file may be present into the q4base folder that is into your Q4 root directory installation and also may be into any of the folders containing different mods and that you may go into every Autoexec.cfg file and add the 'set sys_lang nameofyournativelanguage' command and save the file, then your finally done.

The textures work but I am missing most strogg projectiles, explosions and weapon tracers. What do I do to fix this?

I want to let know all that have already upload it a NEW NG Cool Shaders v1.8 mod that has many fixes, more compatibility because have made and test this mod with my new NVidia 9500GT 1024Mb. gfx card, also makes Q4 to look much new, really try it, soon it will be available here, when the administrators here can post it.
And this new version is recommended to all of you, but specially to most users that have a much newer gfx card on a higher range than my previous NVidia 7600GT 256Mb. gfx card that died in action some weeks ago.
Also this annoying bug will be fixed on any of my other Q4, D3 and the like mods that may contain it. |
